What is Access to Finance Grant Facility?
This facility is funded by Enabel with the objective to unlock the financial constraints within the agriculture and urbanization sectors. It covers 5 specific value chains, namely animal feed, piggery, and poultry in agriculture, and stones and clays in construction.
Loan tenure : The maximum loan tenure is 10 years.

Agriculture
We provide technical assistance and capacity building for project beneficiaries and participating financial institutions. The value of Agreement signed between BRD and Enabel dedicated to Technical and Capacity building for Agriculture program is equivalent to € 199,419.
We provide an interest rate subsidy of 8% for new approved loans in the value chains of animal feeds, poultry and piggery. It can be accessed from participating financial institutions (MFIs, Banks, and SACCOs) through an on-lending mechanism or from BRD through a Direct Lending mechanism. The interest rate subsidy per eligible beneficiary shall not exceed a maximum amount of Rwf100,000,000.
Construction

Eligible Activities
Constructions for new or expansion of infrastructure/premises in the selected value chains.
Machines and Equipment related to the operation of the selected value chains.
Working capital related to the operation of the selected value chains.
Transport facility to the operation of the selected value chains (track, refrigerated truck).
Both existing and new projects can benefit from the facility through modernizing the infrastructures (bringing innovation and improving quality and quantity, and extension of activities).
Beneficiaries & Criteria
- Either Small, medium, and large enterprises.
- Either Cooperatives, companies, or individuals.
- Women and youth will be strongly encouraged to apply.
- Be a member of the pig, poultry, or animal feeds association,
- Be part of the famer field school program under PRISM Enabel,
- Be connected to the Veterinaries sans Frontières (VSF) intervention under PRISM Enabel by having access to veterinary services provided by them,
- Be connected to the NIRDA open call program under PRISM Enabel (Having at least applied to phase 1 or 2 of the open call),
- Be connected to the Business Development Services (BDS) program in livestock under the PRISM Enabel Intervention by being a recipient of the BDS activities,
- Demonstrate that the investment will help reduce key bottlenecks in the respected value chains (logistics, cold chain, processing…),
